Michael Jackson and such subjects makes people who don't usually watch CNN watch it. If someone actually wants to read about thoses subjects, like you, why wait for the television channels (to whom you don't even watch) to show it, when you can go online or to newspapers you trust and find it on places you know will bring you the news YOU want to hear, as you already do.
